Can You Transfer a Physical SIM to a U.S. iPhone 18?

You may be able to convert the existing physical SIM to an eSIM during Quick Start, depending on the carrier.

If conversion is offered, select the phone number on the cellular setup screen and approve the transfer. Once the eSIM activates, the old physical SIM stops providing service.

If the conversion option is missing, contact the carrier and ask it to activate your number using the new iPhone’s IMEI or EID.

Why Is the U.S. iPhone 18 Expected to Have No SIM Card Slot?

Apple has not officially confirmed the final iPhone 18 Pro Max SIM design.
