If you're planning to upgrade to Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, you might want to prepare your wallet. According to multiple credible sources, including Jefferies analyst Edison Lee, the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max could see a noticeable bump compared to previous years.
A $50–$100 Price Hike May Be Coming
Edison Lee from Jefferies, a well-known Wall Street analyst, recently reported that Apple is likely to increase the prices for several models in the iPhone 17 lineup — including the Pro Max. His forecast suggests that while the base iPhone 17 might remain at $799, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could rise from $1,199 to around $1,249 or even $1,299.
The primary reason? Rising production costs, including the impact of new tariffs on Chinese-manufactured goods, which Lee estimates could increase Apple's cost per unit by about $20 to $25. To offset this, Apple may pass a portion of those costs onto consumers.
“The Pro models — including the new iPhone 17 Pro Max — are expected to go up by around $50,” Lee noted in his investor briefing.
